Computer awareness, literacy and onsite training program for Pre-Identified Girl Students

A program is being run by The Bridge to make marginalized, less privileged and disadvantaged girls computer savvy and literate by imparting basic theoretical, visual and practical training without text books on computers and related subjects. Initially, 2 girl students, attending school regularly, were identified.

The program began on May 01, 2005 wherein the pre-identified students are provided Hands-on theoretical, practical, training and practice experience. Ms. Irum - Age 12, Student of Class 6th and Ms. Sahiba - Age 10, Student of Class 4th, students of Akshay Pratishthan School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi were the first 2 students under the program.

This program is continuing. It may not be out of place to mention that 19 girl students, of Akshay Pratishthan School, MCD Primary School, Shiv Shakti Model School, Sarvodaya Kanya Vidhalaya, KPS Convent, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, are now being imparted training under the program. The Bridge has provided 3 computers with a printer and other necessary facilities for the same. We have also provided computers to 3 meritorious girls students in New Delhi.
